ilse-lee & braham in NYC
“I AM OBSESSED WITH THE PHOTOS. You two are so stunning and so so so good!”
If you're looking for a unique location for a photoshoot in New York, the Staten Island Ferry might just be the perfect spot. This iconic ferry ride offers breathtaking views of the city skyline and the Statue of Liberty, making it an ideal backdrop for any photography session. And when you add two very special friends to the mix, the experience becomes even more memorable.
Also, the ferry is free! I mean, Roy and I once did a boat ride to the Statue of Liberty and paid a small fortune for the ride and tour (it was worth it), but if you don’t want to break the bank and be surrounded by tourists, the Staten Island Ferry is a great alternative.
Roy and I had the pleasure of attending Ilse-Lee and Brahm's wedding in South Africa, and it was truly one of the most beautiful celebrations we've ever witnessed (great speeches, food, friends, drinks, and people make for the best weddings). So when they moved to New York, we knew we had to take advantage of the opportunity to capture some stunning photos of our great friends in this amazing city.
We started the day later, catching the ferry from Manhattan to Staten Island to make the most of the early sunset light. As soon as we stepped onto the ferry, we could see why this location is so special. The views of the skyline are simply breathtaking, and it was the perfect backdrop for our shoot.
Ilse-Lee and Brahm were naturals in front of the camera, and we captured some stunning shots of them against the New York skyline. From the Empire State Building to the Brooklyn Bridge, every photo was more beautiful than the last.
After the shoot, we headed to a nearby cocktail-making experience for some well-deserved drinks. It was the perfect end to a perfect day, and we had such a great time together. We laughed, reminisced about the wedding, and enjoyed each other's company as we sipped on our expertly crafted cocktails.
Overall, the Staten Island Ferry proved to be an amazing location for our photoshoot with Ilse-Lee and Brahm. Not only did we capture some truly stunning shots, but we also had a wonderful time together. It just goes to show that sometimes, the most memorable experiences come from the simplest of things.
