Wedding season is in full swing in South Africa, and this one started with a couple who means more to us than they know.
I photographed Lima and Reynardt long before wedding plans were ever a thought back when they were dressed for their matric farewell, nervous and excited in that way only teenagers can be. So when Lima messaged years later, asking if we would photograph their engagement and wedding, it felt like everything had come full circle.
As wedding photographers, we often follow couples through one season of their lives. We meet them, we learn their story, we spend hours together on their wedding day, and then we watch the rest unfold on Instagram. It’s beautiful but it’s usually brief.
With Lima and Reynardt, we’ve been invited into multiple chapters. From school photos to engagement to marriage… it’s rare. And it’s the kind of privilege that reminds you why you fell in love with this work in the first place.
So here’s to Lima and Reynardt to growing up, to growing together, and to letting us witness the in-between moments that most people never get to see.
